General Information
The 2019 Range Rover Sport SVR brings an intriguing combination of luxury and British class to
the mix. A sonorous supercharged V-8 engine with 575-hp, provides substantial forward thrust
and brawny towing capacity, while a sport suspension helps this Land Rover maintain its
composure through the twisties. The exterior styling mixes elegance with high-performance
flourishes, and the cabin is comfortable and upscale with room for the whole family.
It's hard to find an area the 2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport doesn't excel in. Like many of
its competitors, the Range Rover Sport offers a luxuriously appointed cabin, a comfortable ride
and sprightly acceleration. But it also boasts unrivaled off-road performance if you decide to
escape the sprawl of suburbia and literally head for the hills.
The SVR differentiates itself from other Range Rover Sports with a unique aerodynamic front
fascia, side skits, and rear bumper design that features integrated exhaust outlets. The standout
design element is the carbon fiber hood. As wild as it looks, Land Rover showed restraint,
painting from the sides up to the hood vents. It turns heads, without being too gaudy.
The Range Rover SVR is powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 that makes 575 horsepower
and 516 pound-feet of torque. And, oh goodness, does this engine make a sound. It’s the
engine from the Jaguar F-Type SVR, and it makes the same burbles, howls, and cracks when you
rev it up. If these are the types of noises that will annoy your neighbors, the SVR has a dual-
mode exhaust, which allows it to run quiet with the push of a button.
Power is routed through an eight-speed automatic transmission to full-time all-wheel drive.
Despite its on-road focus, it still has a dual transfer case with high and low range. It also has an
adjustable air suspension that can raise for off-road use, but it’s mainly designed to keep the
5,000-plus pound SUV level in hard on-road cornering.
To master the various types of roads or trails you might encounter, the Range Rover Sport SVR
features a Terrain Response system. Simply press the circle that says “Auto” in the center
console, and a dial rises from the panel. The driver can then choose between Comfort, Eco,
Grass/Gravel/Snow, Mud/Rut, Sand, Rock Crawl, and Dynamic drive modes.
The SVR comes with much more aggressive looking front and rear fascia, deep vents in the
SUV’S carbon fiber composite hood, massive branded calipers and huge quad exhausts outlets
in the back.
Another big point about the SVR Sport is the interior. The seats are an all-new design, sportily
cosseting, but also comfortable for long driving stints. They’re beautifully finished in Windsor
leather with lots of eye-catching details. What this new Range Rover scores is some pretty
impressive interior controls, using not one but two high-definition 10.0-inch touchscreens. Only
two physical dials are there, plus a small volume knob. Otherwise it’s all digital, easy to use and
stunning to look at. The instrument binnacle is all digital, as well.
